John Peel Session One
BBC Radio One - 1987
The first of two sessions recorded for John Peels late night show. This one was produced by Dale Griffin - former drummer with Mott The Hoople, and all round moody sod, if memory serves me right!
The four tracks were recorded and mixed in about seven hours - which should have kept Griffin happy (but it didn't) - and we heading back up the M1 before you knew it.
The best bit was blowing bubbles into a BBC paper cup to get the fishtank noises at the end of Breakbone. That, and seeing Terry Wogan in the canteen*
Session One:
Blood On The Car
Front Of yr Face
Mr Obvious Wig
Breakbone
Produced by: Dale Griffin
Recorded at: Maida Vale Studios, London, circa mid 1987
Songs by: Dawe, Dolby, Kelly
*Yet another embelishment that may or may not be true. I like to think I did see Terry Wogan in the canteen - but who knows?
